一 Oneness

CORE THEME
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians
Objective:
  • Prepare brothers and sisters for the new cell groups in Feb.
Ice breaking: (10 mins)
  • Small game at Rm 100 led by Anthony.
Main Discussion (1) (10 mins)
  1. If you were given a group of young people like Journey, how would you divide them into cell groups (e.g. Base on living areas [SW, NE, NW, SE]? base of ages?? Base on personalities?? Base on spiritual gifts?? Base of the ages of spirituality?? Base of genders [three male groups and three female groups]?? Base of marital status?? etc...)
  2. How long should a cell group last (one year, a few years, "til death do us part", etc...)?
  3. What are the responsibilities of the group leaders? Do the group members have any responsibilities? If yes, what are they?
Brief conclusion:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans
Because of this,
  1. There's no perfect grouping method. We can't expect every member in your cell group is "perfect" and 100% "compatible". It takes time to bond every member together (maybe a few months, maybe a few years). Group leader can't do it alone. Every member should at least have a few responsibilities.
  2. Everyone have his/her own "imperfectness". We don't need to hide ours in front of our cell group members. In fact, we should be "open".
  3. We need to learn to forgive and 接納
Matthew 18:15-17
Main Discussion (2) (10 mins)
All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts
  1. What is the meaning of 相交生活 or 小組生活?
Brief Conclusion:
Make cell group part of your daily life!!
  • Characteristics of a healthy cell group:
Main Discussion (3) (10 mins)
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians
Discussion:
  1. Cell group should be treated as one body. Why we can’t live as a body? (e.g. We just focus on ourselves…)
  2. Do you know anything about Holy Spirit? Why is Holy Spirit important to us as a cell group?
  3. What did Jesus do for you? (He died for us when we are a sinner) How does Jesus mean to us as a cell group?
  4. What is your understanding of “Faith” Why is Faith important to us as a cell group?
  5. Who is your God? (Money, fame, desire…)
Brief conclusion:
  • The main elements which "glue" us together are our LORD, faith and baptism; Our God who is our Father of all, NOT our common backgrounds, hobbies/interests, personalities, leaders, spiritual gifts, our talents, activities, fellowship programs, etc...
  • If we truly believe in ONE Holy Spirit, ONE hope, ONE LORD, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God, we shouldn't say something like "我與某組員唔多夾". If we say that, it means we value our group member base on something else (e.g. personalities唔夾, 興趣唔夾, etc...)
Group Activity and presentation: (5 mins)
  • Base on your discussion,
Ending: (10 mins)
  • All meet at Rm 100. 啦啦隊 presentation of every group.
Final conclusion:
  • John 13:1-17
  • Jesus served as an example!!
  • & Sing a song (Anthony leads with Cindy)
Cell group prayer meeting:
  • Back to own rooms.

Leaders, feel free to use to the following verses to support your arguments.
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
    Psalms
One of the scriptures that describes how good is being peacefully with brothers and sisters.
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
    Matthew
One of the basic principles we should have when we treat our cell group members
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
    1 John
If we don't love our cell group members, we're just like those who're not saved yet.
