鹽與光 Salt and Light

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16

Salt can be used for preserving things, as a flavoring agent and neutralizer for taste. It may imply that we should keep our moral standard, provide taste to people’s life and “neutralize” the relationship between people with God.

Light is used to shine and reveal the path. Sometimes people may not recognize what is the true light when stayed in darkness too long. Before we act as the light for the world, we should look at how Jesus Christ approached the people and satisfy their needs (physical and spiritual).

Please share 1 or 2 persons in your life that you think have been your salt and light. Basically, a very important person (in a positive way) in your life who taught you good values, life directions, made you a better person (Christian) through your encounter with him/her + Heavenly Father.
It could be a friend, teacher, bro and sis in church…etc. You can also mention a story you’ve heard or some famous person (Dr. Tse Yuen Man from Hong Kong)

Simply a Show and Tell

Additional discussion question can be:
  1. Is there any difference between being the Salt and Light?
  2. Which one do you think is more efficient to have an impact toward others?
  3. Do you think you can make any changes to your life in order to be the Salt and Light for Him?
